Heuro plans Amsterdam to London high-speed services by 2028

James Billington, January 7, 2024

Dutch start-up Heuro, who describe themselves on their website as: “Europe’s next high-speed train operator”, plan to run high-speed rail services from Amsterdam to London by 2028. Heuro, just like National Express’ Evolyn is the latest entry in a series a companies spying an opportunity in Eurostar’s somewhat recent shortcomings.

Heuro make some quite bold claims on their website e.g. “To Elevate Evey Facet Of Your Daily Life” and “For A Greener Future” respectivley. Also on their website, they say that “Heuro emerged from human desires, informed by analyses from Marveltest.” (Marveltest seem to be at the head of the whole thing). They go on further with the bold claims with: “At Heuro, we don’t just commit – we guaruntee the best internet experience.” and “At Heuro, we recognise that quality food serves dual roles in our lives: a source of health and a centerpiece for social connection. We champion meals that nourish the body while also fullfilling the human need for community… ” and in my opinion the boldest claim yet: “We priortise people over profit”

Heuro’s planned route aims to connects Amsterdam with Brussels, Paris and London with intermediate stops at Schipol Airport, Rotterdam Central, Antwerp Central & complimentary services to Groningen, Assen, Zwolle and Almere, which continue to Paris and only run 2 times per day.

In my opinion, Heuro looks like a rather ambitious prospect but might evetually come to fruition, just not fully up to what it has promised.
